Sustaining Our Movement, Strengthening Our Impact

Description:

Rape Crisis Centers are doing life-saving and life-changing work every day throughout the state of Florida. Organizations are facing constant external changes, from threats to federal funding, changes to Title IX, and increasingly fragile accessibility to resources, while also weathering internal changes such as leadership changes and high rates of turnover. This training will be a space to support leaders to sustain our movement and strengthen our sustainability individually and collectively. Participants will explore how to lead by embracing change, learn how to increase retention, and acquire tangible strategies to increase the sustainability of their respective organizations and the movement as a whole.

Objectives:

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore how to lead by embracing change.

  • Have tangible strategies to plan for transition.

  • Know how to avoid revolving door positions and increase retention.

  • Build programs that are sustainable even with personnel change.

  • Increase the sustainability of respective organizations and the movement as a whole.

As a result of this workshop, participants will feel:

  • Connectedness: with themselves, with their personal journeys, and with each other

  • Supported: to be vulnerable, know they can ask for help, and listen to their personal wisdom.

  • Confident: understanding how to plan for change rather than just responding to it.
